An open call for children’s fiction submissions from debut BAME writers

Nosy Crow

Nosy Crow recently announced an open call for children’s fiction submissions from debut BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) writers.

Nosy Crow is a small, multi-award-winning, independent company. It began publishing child-focused, parent-friendly children’s books and apps in January 2011 with the aim of creating books and apps that encourage children to read for pleasure. It’s one of the country’s fastest growing publishing companies. It’s also currently the 16th biggest publisher of children’s books in the UK.

The open call is for children’s fiction submissions (so, anything in the 5 – 12 age range, particularly interested in 9 – 12, aka “middle grade”) from BAME writers. Looking forward to receive submissions from agented and un-agented authors. Although it would love to receive children’s fiction submissions from debut writers. If you’ve already been published, still submit!

To submit, email Tom at tom@nosycrow.com. He’s happy to consider writing in any genre. If you’d like to submit something, email him with a synopsis and the first three chapters of your manuscript. He’ll reply to everyone who submits something. It might take a week or so, so don’t be discouraged if it takes a while!

If you have any questions, please do send him a message. And if you’ve written something, please send it in!
