Submission Calls

Digibook seeks submissions

Submit to Digibook
Deadline: Oct. 24.

Digibook calls for you to submit your work of fiction across genres, between 2,000 to 3,000 words. It recommends an ideal length of 2,500 words.  It opened the call on Oct. 9 and will close the submission period on Oct. 24, 2017.

Digibook wants fearless, polished, exciting, and most importantly, unpublished works, written in English. And it will pay you for your work should it publish it. Also, it will hold first publication rights to your piece for the first 90 days.  After that, the rights return to you.

It requires only Africans residing in Africa submit their work. Include a writer’s bio, which features your address on the first page. The writer’s bio does not count towards the 3,000 words maximum or 2,000 words minimum rule.

Also, write your story’s exact word count on the upper left corner of the first page. Format your file according to standard manuscript format: Times New Roman and font size 12. Save your story as a Microsoft word document.

And, while it prefers short stories, it will welcome any unpublished, standalone novel excerpts. You just have to indicate it’s a novel excerpt when you submit it.

Submit by uploading your files via its website. Finally, direct all inquiries to hello@digibookafrica.com
