Etisalat Prize for Literature Flash Fiction Category

Etisalat has released its long-list for the 2015 edition of the Etisalat Prize for Literature Flash Fiction Category.

These stories were selected through an online voting process which spanned between Nov. 9, 2015 and Nov. 25, 2015

The top entries include:

While the long-list was decided by crowdsourcing, the winner and runners up will be decided by the judges. The judges include Toni Kan, Hawa Golakai, Abubakar Adam Ibrahim and Monica Cheru.

The winner would receive £1,000, high end device, and e-book publication, promoted online and via SMS. The other two runners up would each receive £500 and high end device.

The Etisalat Prize for Literature Flash Fiction Category was created to promote flash fiction writing by unpublished African writers. The 2014 Flash Fiction winner was Neema Komba/Tanzania for her “Setting Babu on Fire.” The 2014 runners up were Chinua Ezenwa-Ohaeto/Nigeria for “I Saved My Marriage” and Justin Ikhide Irabor/Nigeria for “These Words I Do Not Speak.”
