FIYAH, quarterly speculative fiction magazine that features stories from African Diaspora.
Deadline: April 30, 2018

FIYAH, a quarterly speculative fiction magazine, seeks submission for its 7th issue, themed Music. Music is the language of the soul. For this issue, FIYAH seeks stories where music plays a central role. Maybe the devil really does hand out talent at the crossroads, or maybe that lounge singer isn’t quite what she seems. Send your stories featuring music as magic, music as catalysts, etc. to submissions@fiyahlitmag.com.

FIYAH looks for speculative short fiction by authors from the African continent and diaspora that reject regressive ideas of blackness, respectability politics, and stereotype. Also, speculative poetry that is versed in struggles, reveals, instructs, comforts, and fights back. So, submit your bravest, blackest, most difficult to sell stories to us.
