The Random Thoughts‏ Creative Writing Prize
 Opens October 14 and closes after 40 submissions.
The Random Thoughts starts its new Prize in Creative Fiction, with this year’s theme being Sisterhood.” It bases this theme on the underlying sisterhood that is prevalent in the Ghanaian community and culture. Women often come together to collaborate on projects. They also work for and with each other to reach the highest limit.
It only allows submissions from Ghanaians living in Ghana. To enter, submit a fictional 800words story, in relation to the theme. Send your submissions to therandomthoughtsblog@gmail.com. Do note that your story should be primarily written in English, although you can incorporate other languages. However, your story must be understood by English readers.
Most importantly, paste your story into the body of the email. Do not send your story as an attachment. Failure to adhere to this will result in disqualification. Same, only send in original, unpublished pieces. Likewise, The Random Thoughts does not accept simultaneous submissions.
However, you can submit your submission under a pseudonym or alias, as long as you include your real name. The winner gets 300 GH¢. The second place winner gets a copy of Taiye Selasi’s Ghana Must Go while the third place winner gets a copy of Chimamanda Adichie’s Dear Ijewele/We should all be feminists.
Finally, Victoria Naa Takia Nunoo will judge the competition anonymously. Especially relevant, by submitting, you attest that it’s your original work and grant exclusive digital rights to The Random Thoughts for one year.
