Resources and Outreach for Liberia (ROL) seeks female writers to submit stories to its GirlSpire short story anthropology that will focus on female empowerment. Stories should be between 2,500- 5,000 words. Stories should be young adult or new adult, but can be dark and ominous, humorous, or even fantastical.
ROL’s goal is to empower at-risk girls in post-war, and now, post-Ebola Liberia (West Africa).
Stories should be submitted in standard manuscript format as a Microsoft word document. Send your previously unpublished story as an email attachment, as stories sent in the body of the email will not be considered, to anthology editorial director, Alexandria Ayala at aayala@rol-liberia.org.
There are other ways to join the Project: GirlSpire team. You can volunteer your editing, social media, marketing, or art skills. You can also become a contributing writer to the ROL blog. Email Editor-in-Chief, Tina Lu tlu@rol-liberia.org for more information.
