Cove Park is a Scottish’ retreat open to writers around the world. It’s offering a minimum of three literature residencies. Founded in 1999 by Peter and Eileen Jacobs, Cove Park offers time, space and freedom to make new work and to find new ways of working. Its distinguished alumni include Margaret Atwood, Chika Unigwe, Brian Chikwava, Helen Cross, Nicola White, and many more.
The 2016 literature residencies will take place between May and September, for a month to three. Applications are invited from established writers of short and long fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction and memoir.
To be eligible for consideration, writers must have published at least one full-length book in their field and must not be enrolled in full or part-time education. There are no application fees for their residency. Residents receive £400 (US$610) fee per week and Cove Park’s facilities include self-catering accommodation, a communal meeting space, library, archive, computer suite and a stunning 50-acre site.
When applying, include a two-page introductory statement about your work and reasons for applying for the residency, a current CV, and a 5,000 word writing sample. Check out Cove Park website for more information.
