Deadline: Nov 13.
Granta publishes fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. Currently, it is accepting fiction and nonfiction submissions until Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019. However, it accepts photography and art submissions all year-round.
The publication imposes no strict word limits. Ideally, submit submissions that are between 3,000 and 6,000 words. Do note that the editors will not read any submission that is more than 10,000 words.
Submit in only one category at a time. It will consider your submission for print and online editions unless you stipulate otherwise.
It only publishes original material, i.e. first-ever publication. The publication won’t run a work previously published on the web or in print. It can, however, publish an original translation if the work has previously appeared in another language.
Include a cover letter stating where your work has been published before, if relevant. Do not submit book manuscripts, academic essays, or reviews. Submit only works written in English.
Please note that Granta won’t comment on your work. Granta receives a significant number of submissions every day. And many of them are unsuitable for Granta, however well written.
Submit your work through its Submittable account. However, there is a £3 service fee, which can be claimed against the cost of a subscription. For further information visit the Granta website.
