You stand a chance to be part of the Jiwar Residency in Barcelona. Jiwar Creation and Society hosts and supports writers whose work is based on or inspired by urban space.
Jiwar will host four writers and develop a special program around writing and literature. It will grant the emergent country writer a full stipend residency. However, the writer will cover the cost of travel and meals.
Residents will partake in a public reading. Writers will read samples of their work. And the writing jam session in Jiwar will be open to the public. The residency also offers contact with local artists and Barcelonian artistic networks. Also, you will meet with Barcelonian writers and publishers, and visit the main Catalan Institutions. Another attraction if interested, you will be able to share your work with high schools neighborhood.
To apply, send your CV, recent work sample, and the description of the project you intend to complete to jiwar@jiwarbarcelona.com. Your applications can be in French, Spanish, Catalan AND English. However, if your work sample is in another language than English, it’s advisable that you have at least one sample translated into English, Spanish or French. Also, include with your application the language(s) you speak.
