Writers Project of Ghana calls for submission to the first edition of its Mo Issa Writing Workshops. The workshop series will run on weekends over a five-month period. It will involve workshops, discussion sessions, and online interactions with accomplished writers and other facilitators.
To apply, send an e-mail with the subject “Mo Issa Writing Workshops” to submissions@writersprojectghana.com. Include a 50 – 100 words introduction of yourself and your work. Attach a 2,000 words long sample of your writing as a Word or PDF document. The sample can be a short story or an extract from a longer work such as a novel, or a collection of short stories.
However, selected applicants will be expected to have available a manuscript of at least 10,000 words for the workshop. Only twelve spaces are available for participants. Eight people will attend for free and the other four will pay the GhC 300 for the entire workshop or GhC 80 per session.
The sessions will cover:
- Creative Concepts and Content
- Language and Structure
- Editing
- Rewriting the manuscript, preparing a synopsis, and preparing for publication.
