Ake Review Deadline: August 31, 2017.
Ake Review welcomes entries in fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, reviews, photography, film, music, sound art, performance art, and visual art. It is an annual multi-lingual literary journal that serves as a vehicle for the promotion and celebration of African culture.
You can submit entries in written form, as podcasts, or as videos. It encourages submission of pieces that explore multi-genre, multimedia and inter-disciplinary formats.
Writers can submit up to four poems, or no more than 2,500 words of fiction, or no more than 2,000 words of nonfiction. Also, artists may submit 2 high-res jpeg works. Include with your submission a 70 words bio. The publication only accepts one submission per person.
Submit original, unpublished pieces centered around this year’s Ake Arts and Book Festival theme: This F-Word. Enter works that discuss the challenges, journeys, and triumphs of African women, as well as other feminist perspectives.
Email your entry to editor@akefestival.org as an attachment, using ‘AR Submission’ as the subject line.
Finally, Ake Review will give successful contributors two Ake Review copies and a token payment communicated upon acceptance.

Please, should the 70 words bio be included with the attached submission or separately?
Thank you.

Femi, attach two documents: your submission and your bio. Do not send more than one email as the team only accepts one submission per person.
