Deadline: May 25, 2024 (Africa Day) at 12pm
Forced Migration and The Arts, in collaboration with CivicLeicester and Regularise, is inviting poems on the theme of African migration. They welcome submissions from writers of all ages and locations worldwide.
The anthology aims to explore personal, familial, community, and national histories and experiences related to African migration. This includes the images, issues, causes, reasons, hopes, expectations, encounters, joys, hardships, dreams, realities, pasts, presents and futures surrounding migration within and beyond the African continent.
Submission Guidelines:
- Poems should be 40 lines or less
- Short fiction should be 100 words or less
- Works must be in English (translated works allowed with permission)
- Previously published works allowed if you hold the copyright
- Submit maximum 3 poems, 3 short fiction pieces, or a combination
- Include a 50-word bio to be published if accepted
- Single-spaced submissions via email or .doc attachment
- For translated works, obtain permission from original copyright holder
