City Press presents its 2016 Tafelberg Nonfiction Award. The Tafelberg Nonfiction Award is South Africa’s largest nonfiction manuscript development for publication award. A biennially award, City Press offers R120,000 and manuscript publication by Tafelberg, an imprint of NB Publishers, a leading publishing house in South Africa. The award is for English manuscripts only.
The proposed book should be accessible, with quality writing. It should add to conversation about South African society, history and politics. Your research and information should be of an impeccable standard. And, you must not be afraid to touch on sensitive or difficult issues.
To submit, send a 0ne-page motivation on your book’s relevance, draft table of contents, one or more chapters and your CV. The minimum requirement for your book chapter(s) is 2, 000 words.
Previous winners include Don Pinnock, and Maria Phalime.
