You can submit multiple entries. However, you have to accompany each entry with a separate reading fee. Each submission entry fee cost $17.
SLS does not accept previously published materials. But, it can consider submissions previously published on a personal website or social network. Submit your entry via SLS’s Submittable account.
The two 2017 SLS fiction and poetry contest winners will have the choice of attending, with all expense paid, one of SLS’s programs, either in Georgia or in Kenya. Also, Fence Magazine will publish their work.
SLS will hold its Tbilisi, Georgia program from July 9 to July 22, and the Kenyan program in December. The Georgia program “will foster cultural exchange and friendships between the North-American and international writers.” There, participants will work closely with Georgian writers and artists at the Writer’s House of Georgia. Summer Literary Seminars offers participants affordable and centrally located apartments and assistance with booking.
On the other hand, the Kenyan program will occur either in the Loita Hills territory or the equatorial island of Lamu, the birthplace of the Swahili culture and a UNESCP World Heritage site. The winners get to choose which they plan to attend.
