Afridiaspora announces a call for submission of the maiden edition of its Afridiaspora anthology, a quarterly publication. The maiden edition’s theme is ‘My Africa, My City.’ It seeks stories and arts that showcase the colourful cities of Africa. Afridiaspora will publish the anthology as a free downloadable e-book.
Submit your original unpublished work in the following genres: fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry and visual arts. Send submissions must be sent to info@afridiaspora.com. Word count for fiction and non-fiction should not exceed 5,000 words. Do not send book excerpts.
Submission should be a Microsoft word attachment. Do not send PDFs. Make the subject of your email ‘My Africa, My City Submission.’ Include a 100-word max, third person bio, and a profile picture.
You can title your submission after any particular city, but you don’t have to title your work ‘My Africa, My City.’
Visual art submission should be of high resolution jpeg files and not larger than 5mb. It should also come with a title and the year. Also include the artist’s bio.
Afridiaspora does not pay its writers and also does not accept simultaneous submission.
