Agbowó Call for Submissions | Limits

Agbowó Call for Submissions | Limits
Deadline: April 31, 2019.

Agbowó lit and art magazine is now accepting submissions. The team calls for visual art pieces, photographs, short stories, essays and poetry that explore the theme “Limits”. It is after stories that dance gracefully on the limits between dream and reality.

It wants poems that chant at the errant that without consent the body is off-limits and personal essays about people pushed to the very limits of our patience or skill, etc. The team, however, is not limiting you to thematic interpretations of “Limits”. You can provide Limits interpretations in form (e.g. a poem that goes on for pages or a painting or sculpture that has never been seen before in media).

Please submit no more than 5 poems, 1 short-story or essay, or 5 photographs. Submissions should be sent as Word or high-resolution images attachments with an accompanying short bio. You can email your submission to prose.agbowo@gmail.com, essays.agbowo@gmail.com, poetry.agbowo@gmail.com, or visualarts.agbowo@gmail.com, depending on your genre. The subject line of the email should read “Submission for Limits”.

In 2018, the team published its maiden issue, X, which featured works by Kola Tubosun, Romeo Oriogun, Niyi Okeowo, among others.
