Deadline: none.
Empty Mirror, an online literary magazine, publishes non-fiction, poetry, and art every Friday. It accepts submissions year-round. And, it is committed to diversity and inclusiveness.
Submit 3-6 previously unpublished poems together in one document. Don’t double-space your poems unless they must be presented that way when published.
For visual art, send 3-12 images of at least 750 pixels, united by a common theme or style. Send images as individual files. Don’t embed them in a document. Please name each image with its title or include a caption. Untitled work is fine, too.
Nonfiction has varying lengths. Essays, articles, and features should be 1,000-20,000 words; interviews should be up to 10,000 words; book reviews should be 300-5,000 words; book excerpt should be between 1,000 and 5,000 words
Empty Mirror’s style guide conforms to the Chicago Manual of Style, with a few minor exceptions. In most cases, you can expect to have a decision within 1–4 weeks. If you have questions, please contact Denise.
