Sony World Photography Awards invites you to enter its competitions: open competition, professional competition and its youth competition. You can only enter one competition. Winning and shortlisted photographers will have their works exhibited at Somerset House, London in Spring 2018. In addition, they will win prizes listed below, included in a global press campaign, and featured across the World Photography Organisation website.
The Competition is free to enter and you must be over the age of 18, except for the youth competition. To enter, upload your image via the World Photography Organisation Website or any of the official Sony World Photography Award website. And, follow the on-screen instructions carefully. Submit only images taken in 2017. Submit one to three images, no smaller than 1MB and no larger than 5MB. Furthermore, save the images in the RGB colour model, JPEG files. Photos do not have to be in a series.

Open competition
Winners: there will be one winner, 10 shortlisted photographers, and up to 40 commended photographers.
Prizes: winner recieves $5,000, Sony digital imaging equipment, flights and accommodation to the awards ceremony and inclusion in the exhibition. While, category winners get Sony digital imaging equipment, publication in winners’ book, and inclusion in the exhibition. Not to be left out, shortlisted photographers win a digital exhibition at Somerset House, London and publication in winners’ book. Finally, the commended photographers have their work part of the digital exhibition.

Youth competition
Winners: there will be one winner, 10 shortlisted photographers, and up to 40 commended photographers. While, the shortlisted photographers win a digital exhibition at Somerset House, London and publication in winners’ book.
Prizes: winner receives Sony digital imaging equipment, flights and accommodation to the awards ceremony and inclusion in the exhibition.
First of all, to enter the Youth competition, you must be aged between 12-19 on the closing date. You need to get your parent’s or legal guardian’s consent to participate in the Competition if you are under 16. For more submission guidline, visit: Youth competition.
Professional competition

As a professional, you can submit either published or unpublished work. Submit only unpublished photographs taken between the dates of January 1st and December 31, 2017. Please note that you will not be able to these works as published work in the future. In addition, you can also submit published work commissioned or acquired or first published between the dates of January 1st and December 31, 2017.
