Deadline: Not dated
Teju Cole in his Eight Letters to a Young Writer advises any aspiring writer to keep a journal and write in it every day. Do you? But keeping a journal is not the preserve of writers because any introspective person, with literary skill or not, will soon write as a way to escape or understand or reveal uncharted psychologies of herself due to certain conditions she may find herself. Many extraordinary works of writing have been created this way. Powerful personal experiences, witness stories, travelogues, memoir writing, letters, deep reflections, political, philosophical and religious musings, questions on existence, and so on.
So if you have kept a journal, or you keep one, and you think you have something that should not be read by you alone or your children, when you pass on this journal to them, think of sending to Praxis Magazine Online.
Assistant digital editor Carl Terver seeks raw, unedited writing. Nakedness. The nuances of writing that come with self-meditation, introspection. Magic. Note, however, that because some journal writing is too personal, any story that is unabashedly sentimental, suicide notes, hate writings or any writing that harbors negative thought ARE UNLIKELY TO BE CONSIDERED.
