Wasafiri

A Britain’s premier magazine for international contemporary writing. Published quarterly, Wasafiri provides serious literary and critical coverage of writers who often struggled, because of their cultural or ethnic backgrounds, to get adequate notice in the mainstream press.
Fiction: submissions should be no longer than 6000 words in length and previously unpublished. Work should be submitted as a Word document or equivalent (no pdfs please, and do not paste your short story into the body of an email). Your name should not appear anywhere on the manuscript. Instead, your name and contact details should be listed in a covering letter/email.
Poetry: There is no limit to the number of poems that you can submit to Wasafiri, although all submissions must be previously unpublished. Work should be submitted as a Word document or equivalent (no pdfs please, and do not paste your poems into the body of an email). Please use one page per poem.
Interview: submissions should be no longer than 6000 words in length and previously unpublished.
Article: submissions should be no longer than 6000 words in length and previously unpublished. Please consult the Wasafiri Style Sheet and MLA guidelines for advice on formatting, general style points and citations.
Review: if you are interested in reviewing for Wasafiri, please contact the reviews editor and include a recent sample of your writing (preferably a book review), as well as a short CV, your affiliation and contact details.
The consideration process can take up to six months. All submissions can be emailed to wasafiri@open.ac.uk and marked for the attention of the Editor. Or addressed directly to:
