A biennial prize, the SI Leeds Literary Prize honors unpublished fiction by Black and Asian women resident in the UK aged 18+. Soroptimist International of Leeds created and runs the SI Leeds Literary Prize.
Submit an unpublished novel or collections of short stories of any genre of no less than 30,000 words. Please do not submit memoirs, biographies and autobiographies. And ensure that your submission is written in English.
Winners will receive a range of prizes including £3,000 (1st prize), £1,250 (2nd), and £750 (3rd). Other wins include manuscript assessment through The Literary Consultancy and appearances at literary events such as the Ilkley Literature Festival.
To enter, submit your full manuscript via Submittable, with a 500-word synopsis and a £10 entry fee. You can submit in .doc, .docx, .pdf and .rtf formats. Since submissions are read blind, the prize team asks that you leave your name off your manuscript.
